All-rounder Hardik Pandya won his first Man of the Series award as India smashed Australia 4-1 in the ODI series.
Pandya scored 222 runs in 5 matches at an average of 55.50, and claimed 6 wickets at an economy rate of 6.06. His brother and Mumbai Indians teammate Krunal Pandya was among those who praised him.
"Just before the #INDvAUS series, @hardikpandya7 told me he will set the stage on fire & today I can proudly say, "you did it… and how!"????" revealed Krunal on his Twitter. He posted an image of Hardik with all the trophies from the Australia series, according to a ZeeNews report.
Apart from Hardik, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal shone with the ball. With the bat, Ajinkya Rahane scored half-centuries in four of the five ODIs while Rohit Sharma hit a century in final ODI.
"Hardik Pandya is the biggest asset. Selection dilemma is always a good headache for me as a captain because it’s always better to have plenty to pick from and take the best 11 possible," skipper Virat Kohli said about him.
