Sunil Narine continued to showcase his best form with the bat as he led from the front to score a blistering knock of 81 at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow to help Kolkata set a record target at Lucknow Super Giants’ home ground.
LSG had moments where they came back in the game but Mohsin Khan’s injury forced the side to use their concussion sub to bring in Yudhvir Singh who chipped in with the wicket of Angkrish Raghuvanshi who was looking to pick up the pace. Andre Russell was able to get a few strokes going for him but was unable to get a big score for the side.
For LSG it will be on the likes of KL Rahul and Marcus Stoinis who have no choice but to go hard against the KKR bowling unit if they are to complete this record chase.
After Sunil Narine’s yet another electrifying knock, the bowling duo of Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy picked up three wickets each to derail LSG’s chase of 236, bundling them out for 136 with 23 balls to spare
LSG losing an early wicket saw Marcus Stoinis making his way into the field to join Rahul in the middle. The duo, in fact, stitched an important 50-run stand for the second wicket but all the hard work went in vain once Rahul lost his wicket to Harshit Rana, who was back after serving a 1-match ban
