Delhi Daredevils broke their losing run in the Indian Premier League by overcoming Sunrisers Hyderabad by 40 runs. This was Delhi's third win in nine matches.
Delhi bowled first and Mohammed Shami unsettled the Sunrisers Hyderabad to finish with impressive figures of 2 for 36. For his efforts, he was chosen as the Man of the Match.
Speaking about his performance and his battle with injury at the post-match presentation ceremony, Shami said, “This performance will boost my confidence. I was trying to back myself. It will be good for me and my team.
“If you get injured that disturbs you mentally. When on field, I do not feel that much pressure,” he went on to add.
Speaking about his plans of bowling against a strong SRH batting unit, Shami said, “It’s a T20 format so you have to use the new ball and not give pace to the batsmen.”
David Warner was cleaned up by Shami for 30 while Kane Williamson road was bounced out. “We had different plans for both of them (Williamson and Warner), wanted to stick to my skills and leave it to luck,” Shami explained about the dismissals.
