On what is a seaming track at Dharamsala, Kings XI Punjab managed to get to a competitive total of 141/8. It is a very good total for the homeside considering that at one stage they were on the mat at 20 for 4 in 5.5 overs and then 126 for 8 in 19 overs after being put to bat first.

The final over of the innings bowled by Umesh Yadav has given some fresh hopes for Kings XI Punjab to win this match as they collected 15 useful runs with Ryan Harris striking the fast bowler for a six and a boundary. Otherwise, Umesh Yadav was the hero at Dharamsala until the last over with a dream first spell of 3-1-4-3! Yadav with a tremendous new ball spell with Morne Morkel had Kings XI Punjab to a disastrous start.

Umesh Yadav took three early wicketsAt 20 for 4, Kings XI Punjab could recover finally with Siddharth Chitnis scoring 38 (from 32 balls with 5 fours and a six) in the company of the experienced Azhar Mahmood who got 36 from 38 balls (with 4 fours and a six). Kings XI Punjab suddenly bounced back in the final overs because of a brilliant cameo of 26 from 11 balls (with 4 fours and a six) from Gurkeerat Singh. Morne Morkel did the damage control for Delhi by taking three wickets in the penultimate over of the innings. Morkel finished with figures of 4/20 in 4 overs.
