Fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep has replaced the injured Nuwan Kulasekara in the Sri Lankan Squad. Kulasekara injured his groin while attempting a forward diving catch at mid off offered by Virender Sehwag in the opening ODI at Hambantota. The 30-year-old medium pacer, who bowled a spell of 5 overs with the new ball before the incident didn’t finish his quota of 10 overs and came out to bat at no.11. Kulasekara has been ruled out of the remainder of the 5-match ODI Series.
Nuwan Pradeep, the replacement for Kulasekara has the ability to bowl at sharp speeds of 140 kmph but in the Test Series against Pakistan struggled to take wickets. Nuwan Pradeep will fight for a place in the playing XI for tomorrow’s second ODI with left-arm medium pacer Isuru Udana.
