The Indian cricket team for the 2023 ODI World Cup to be played in India from October 5 to November 19 has been announced. There were no surprises as such. The core of the team is as expected.

Former India captain Virat Kohli praised Pakistan’s bowling attack ahead of the Asia Cup 2023 clash between the arch-rivals in Pallekele on Saturday, September 2. Kohli opined that Pakistan have a very strong bowling line-up and stated that the batters will need to be switched on at all times to deal with the challenge.

Akram recalled that many were predicting an India vs Pakistan final in the Asia Cup last time, but Sri Lanka came back from a horrendous start to clinch the title.

Former South African captain AB de Villiers admitted that he is disappointed with the Indian selectors’ decision to drop Yuzvendra Chahal for the upcoming Asia Cup. De Villiers opined that Chahal is a handy leg-spin option to have in the team.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly reckons that the Men in Blue will have to bat very well to win the 2023 ODI World Cup, which will be played at home from October 5 to November 19. According to Ganguly, if India bat well in the tournament, they will win the World Cup. He also termed them a strong side.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday, August 21 named the squad for the 2023 Asia Cup, which will be played from August 30 to September 17. The 17-member squad includes KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, both of whom will be making a comeback from injury. However, keeper-batter Sanju Samson has also been included as a backup player since chief selector Ajit Agarkar confirmed that Rahul has picked up another niggle
