South Africa rest Jacques Kallis for England ODI Series

South Africa have rested veteran all-rounder Jacques Kallis for the upcoming 5-ODI NatWest Series in their England tour. Kallis is likely to make it to the South African Squad for the T20 World Championship in Sri Lanka which could be the reason why he is going to be rested after the ongoing 3-Test Series against England.

South Africa have rested veteran all-rounder Jacques Kallis for the upcoming 5-ODI NatWest Series in their England tour. Kallis is likely to make it to the South African Squad for the T20 World Championship in Sri Lanka which could be the reason why he is going to be rested after the ongoing 3-Test Series against England. Kallis has already been named in South Africa’s 30-man probables for the ICC Twenty20 World Championship.

The South Africans have given an opportunity to 25-year-old all-rounder Dean Elgar in the place of Kallis in the 15-man ODI Squad for England Series. Elgar is yet to play in an international match for South Africa. Elgar, who is a former South Africa U-19 Captain bowls handy left arm spin along with his top order batting.

Jacques Kallis restedSouth Africa have made two more changes with leg spinner Imran Tahir and tall seamer Ryan McLaren getting ODI recalls. Meanwhile the Selectors have also named South Africa A squads for a tour of Ireland.
