If England hoped for some respite in the shortest format of the game, it wasn’t to be as the awesome Aussies thrashed them 3-0 in the T20s as well. After running Australia close in the first T20 at Hobart, which they lost by 13 runs, they were thrashed in the next two games at MCG and Sydney by eight wickets and 84 runs respectively. Here’s a look at the men who starred in Australia’s 3-0 triumph against a clumsy English outfit.

Cameron White: His days as a Test and ODI player might be long over, but he remains a force in the T20 format. The big hitter was brilliant for Australia at the top of the order, ending up as the series’ top run-scorer with 174 runs from three games. He maintained a strike rate of 139 with two fifties, smashing 19 fours and five sixes in the three matches combined. White blasted 75 from 43 in the opening T20 at Hobart, an unbeaten 58 from 45 at Melbourne, and ended the series with 41 from 37 balls at Sydney – a series he would look back at fondly for sure.

George Bailey: The Aussie T20 skipper led from the front, with 123 runs from three games, being dismissed only once, thus giving him an average of 123. Impressively, Bailey had a magnificent strike rate of 198, blasting 12 fours and 6 sixes in the series. After falling for 14 in the first game, Bailey made a brilliant, unbeaten 60 from 28 balls in the second match to help Australia seal the series. In the final game, he remained unbeaten on 49 from 20 balls, again playing a major part in Australia thumping the Englishmen by 84 runs in the final game of the series.

Aaron Finch: He supported White well at the top as Australia got off to brisk starts in most matches. His 92 runs across the three games were achieved at a strike rate of 146 with eight fours and 6 sixes. Finch kicked off the series with 52 from 31 balls at Hobart, with 5 fours and three sixes. Although he made only 10 at the MCG, he featured in a brisk 48- run opening stand. In the final game at Sydney, he contributed a quick 30 from 21 balls as Australia again got off to a good start.

Nathan Coulter-Nile: The Aussie pacer impressed yet again. He grabbed seven wickets in three matches, at an average of 11.5 and a strike rate of 10. His economy rate of 6.6 was also decent. Coulter-Nile was at his best in the opening match at Hobart, when he finished with figures of 4 for 30. He picked up 1 wicket for 29 runs at the MCG and 2 for 21 in the final T20 at Sydney.
